Cockpit Premium vs Plastic Deep Cleaner
One of the most common questions we get is, "What's the difference between Cockpit Premium and Plastic Deep Cleaner 'Plastik Reiniger'?
Both are our top selling interior cleaners but some are not sure which one to use and what the differences are.
Let's break it down!
Cockpit Premium
Cleaning
Use for light cleaning of interior surfaces (dashboard, arm rests, steering wheel, shift knob, audio/navigation screens, pedals, rubber floor mats, and coated leather surfaces). Removes light to mild dirt/grime, dust.
Finish
On a scale of 0 (no finish) to 10 (high gloss finish), it's a 1. It mildly enhances the factory finish so it just looks clean without looking flat.
Protection
Protects against fading from heat. Unlike Vinyl-Rubber Extra, which is primarily for exterior plastic/tires/vinyl surfaces and trim, which has UV protectants, Cockpit Premium is formulated for interior surfaces where most UV rays are filtered through the glass.
Plastic Deep Cleaner 'Plastik Reiniger'
Cleaning
A highly concentrated detergent cleaner for all plastic/rubber/vinyl surfaces including: dashboard, arm rests, steering wheel, shift knob, audio/navigation screens, pedals, rubber floor mats, coated leather surfaces*, and tires). Removes stubborn and heavy build up of dirt/grime. Also removes scuff marks left by rubber shoe soles.
Finish
On a scale of 0 (no finish) to 10 (high gloss finish), it's a 0. Plastic Deep Cleaner leaves the finish flat.
Protection
Zero protection. It's just a cleaner.
Bottom Line
Use Plastic Deep Cleaner when you need to remove stubborn and heavy build up of dirt and grime or if you have scuff marks. You shouldn't have to use too often. Follow up with Cockpit Premium to leave a mild finish and protection.
Use Cockpit Premium for maintenance and light cleaning with protection. You will use Cockpit Premium most often unless your vehicle's interior is constantly exposed to dirt and grime.
Not sure? Keep both on hand! More likely than not, you will need both at some time.
